Scalp eczema, known as seborrheic eczema, begins with the appearance of dandruff and then red patches that can become oily and yellowish. Under the effect of sebum, a fungus naturally present on the scalp contributes to the propagation of symptoms, followed by itching and burning sensations.

Small blisters full of liquid often appear. After hair coloring, they occur especially on the ears and neck.

Why scalp eczema ?
Seborrheic dermatitis is the type of eczema affecting the scalp the most. The scalp can also be affected by another skin disease which is psoriasis. Scalp eczema is often caused by the use of unsuitable shampoos and perfumed products.
Scalp eczema or psoriasis ?
Scalp eczema is often confused with psoriasis, which has similar symptoms, but eczema produces characteristic blisters. The causes and treatments are different. Psoriasis is caused by an excessive renewal of skin cells.
